Dear Lichenologists,

the 10^th Symposium of the International Association for Lichenology (IAL10) will take place in Trieste, Italy, from 26^th to 31^st of July, 2026.
We are pleased to host this international meeting in Italy, a country where a friendly group of about 150 professional and amateur lichenologists are active on a wide range of lichenological topics, spanning taxonomy, lichen-associated microorganisms, biodiversity and its conservation, biology and ecophysiology, environmental biomonitoring, and cultural heritage conservation. Lichenology has a long history in the country and has always represented an exciting field of research in which academic scientists and amateurs meet and get inspired by interacting and planning together projects and field activities.
We wish that this 10^th international meeting will be as much fruitful and successful as possible for all of us, students, researchers, group leaders, as well as amateurs and teachers to exchange expertise, discuss on new findings, strengthen existing and realizing future cooperations.
